During 2006-2007, more than 900
students received benefits from programs offered by
the ACC Foundation:
- 205 students
with need received Foundation Scholarships, which
are funded through unrestricted donations.
- 204 students
received named scholarships. Of this number, 60 received
supplemental unrestricted funds from the Foundation
when the named scholarship did not cover their full
need.
- 192 very low-income
students were able to qualify for State SEOG funds
due to the Foundation’s provision of the required
25% match.
- 103 student
workers received more than _ their wages from the
Foundation.
- Approximately 100 students
participated in learning activities resulting from
grants received by or special initiatives sponsored
by the Foundation2.
- 41 ACC GED
or Adult High School graduates took advantage of the
Foundation’s gift to them of one free college
level class.
- 32 students
received short-term loans from the Foundation so they
could start class while their Pell grant applications
were being processed.
- 32 Alamance
County high school graduates received academic based
scholarships from the Foundation.
- 14 students
received Foundation student distress funds to tide
them over in the face of a one-time emergency situation
that would have prevented them from graduating.
- 10 students
served as Student Ambassadors.
