Jerry Williams

Jerry WilliamsJerry Williams, an instructor for the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program. A lieutenant with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department, Williams earned his associate’s degree in Criminal Justice at ACC in 1991. He also served as a student ambassador. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program and earned his credentials.

Williams began his law enforcement career at the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office in July of 1993 as a bailiff. After working ten years as a line Deputy, he transferred to the Special Operations Division. During his years with the Sheriff’s Office, he has worked in the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) program, Gang Unit, and currently serves as supervisor in the Crime Scene Unit.

For the past eleven years, Williams has taught in the BLET program at ACC. In addition to his certification as a general instructor, he is specialized in teaching Firearms and Subject Control. He also teaches in the Detention Officer Certification Program and the annual mandated in-service classes for law enforcement officers.

“Though I have received this honor, it’s not solely mine. It belongs to every instructor that I have ever taught with or who has taught me,” said Williams. “From the directors of Alamance Community College’s BLET program, who either taught me in my class or whom I worked with, to the director and assistant director of the in-service and detention programs.”
